Beginning/Intermediate Hand-Building Ceramics 1 & 2
5 week course 15 years-adult $150.00
Students will learn basic hand-building techniques such as: pinch, coil & slab construction and glazing techniques.
Tuition includes clay, glaze, tools & firing. This class is great for students who want to get in touch with their
creative selves or are interested in a new medium.

Hand-Building for Teens
5 week course 13 -18years $125.00

Mask Making (2 classes) 15years - adult $65.00
Mask making is an art that is at least 30,000 years old. Masks continue to conceal, to reveal and to intrigue.
Using ceramic slab techniques students will draw on centuries of mask making traditions to create a mask of their
own. Tuition includes: instruction, clay, glaze, oxides. Firing fees are extra and calculated at a rate of $.03 per
cubic inch. Class limited to 10 students

SB-I-85 Su 1-3 p.m. May 10th & 24th
Random Weaving (2 classes) 15years - adult $55.00
If you love color and texture and fiber, you will love this class. Students will produce a woven wall hanging using
a small lap weaving loom. Using various weaving techniques and supplies students will produce an eclectic wall
hanging.
Class limited to 10 students. Supplies provided. Students are also welcome to bring their own yarns, beads and
embellishments if they wish.

SB-V-55-1 Wed. 6:30-8:30 p.m. May 20th & 27th
Woven Spirit Dolls (2 classes) 15years - adult $55.00
Make a captivating spirit doll using a variety of yarns and weaving techniques. These spirit dolls can be worn as
a pin or framed. Class limited to 10 students. Supplies provided. Students are also welcome to bring their own
yarns,
beads and embellishments if they wish.

Private or Semi-Private Instruction on the Wheel
If you would like to learn to throw or to improve your skills on a potters wheel, private or
semi-private instruction/mentoring is available. Call for information and fees.

Open Studio Time
Benefit from our wonderful community of artists. Purchase a punch card which gives you 15 hours in the studio
for $100.00 or drop in fee of $10.00 per hour. (The punch card can be used over a period of months)
Or…become a member for $100 per month and get unlimited use of the studio during Open Studio time. (does
not include firing fees)
Open studio time is geared for individuals who have experience in working with clay and want a place to work.
This is a wonderful opportunity to interact with other artists and practice your skills. Use the studio wheels and
slab roller
Studio Time for Rent- Studio space is available to rent for workshops, classes, family art
nights, or therapist groups. Please call for information and fees.
Firing
We will fire your ceramic pieces for you for $.05 a cubic inch or…….. Purchase a Firing
Credit Card and pay only $.03 a cubic inch.
About the Instructors
Sonya Burke is an award winning artist and former school teacher with an MA degree in Counseling. She values
art as a tool for exploration and insight to our Self. She is the founder and director of Art & Soul Studios.
Stacie Logue received her BA Degree in Fine Art from Cal State LA. Her emphasis was in ceramics and she
studied under Joe Soldate. After graduating, she has taught art classes in public and private settings. She
maintains a working studio at Sea Breeze Gallery.
Sherilyn Wheaton has been in love with throwing on the potter’s wheel since the age of ten. She has thrown
pots in a variety of community and university art centers around the country and has been fascinated to witness
a wide range of techniques for the ancient art of making a lump of clay into the round.
Paul Billock has been working with ceramics for 10 years . He studied under Jim Heuston at various studios in
the Glendale, CA area. His training has covered many forms of working with clay such as handbuilding, sculpture,
and throwing on the wheel. Some of his favorite aspects are the creative process and exploring with textures
and natural forms.
